We are preparing our upcoming course intake. Course dates and registration information will be published here when available.
Programme overview
Korean begins with Hangul, the writing system that makes it possible to read and build words without depending on romanisation. The programme then develops useful sentence patterns, particles and appropriate levels of politeness.
The sequence moves through the beginner skills associated with TOPIK I Levels 1 and 2, then introduces the intermediate reading, listening and writing relevant to TOPIK II Level 3. Live interaction also develops speaking, which is not part of those standard TOPIK I and II papers.
A course title indicates a learning target, not an examination award. Activities connect the language to daily life, further study and communication in Korean-speaking settings.
Who this programme is for
Beginners and continuing learners who want to read Hangul, communicate in Korean and understand the TOPIK progression.
TOPIK I covers Levels 1–2 and assesses listening and reading. TOPIK II covers Levels 3–6 and includes writing. Europa’s current range stops at a Level 3 learning target; these stages are not presented as CEFR equivalents.
Review the starting point, language skills and intended outcomes at each stage.
Start reading Hangul and build polite, useful sentences for introductions and simple daily needs.
No previous Korean or knowledge of Hangul is required.
Introduce yourself, order simple items and ask basic questions using familiar polite forms.
Distinguish frequently encountered sounds and identify key words in short, slowly delivered dialogues.
Read familiar words, short notices and simple sentences written in Hangul.
Form Hangul syllable blocks and write short sentences about personal details and daily activities.
The outline begins with Hangul and pronunciation, then combines vocabulary, sentence patterns and short exchanges. The confirmed timetable and pace of script work will accompany registration information.
Aim to read familiar Hangul and manage basic exchanges with support. Completing the course does not award a TOPIK result.
Broaden your beginner Korean for daily routines, public services and short conversations about familiar experiences.
A Level 1 foundation: basic Hangul reading, common particles, polite present forms and simple everyday exchanges.
Explain plans, ask for help and take part in common shopping, transport and appointment situations.
Follow essential information in short conversations and clear announcements about everyday matters.
Read personal messages, notices and short passages, identifying who, when, where and why.
Write simple connected descriptions of a day, a plan or a recent event in Hangul.
Practice develops from short exchanges to linked sentences and beginner reading and listening tasks. Speaking and writing remain part of learning even though TOPIK I itself tests listening and reading.
Work towards a stronger beginner foundation across everyday contexts. Exam registration and an official Level 2 result are separate from Europa course completion.
Move beyond beginner exchanges into longer texts, more sustained listening and organised written responses.
A secure TOPIK I foundation, including connected sentences, everyday reading and listening, and consistent Hangul writing.
Discuss familiar study and social situations, explain a reason and clarify an opinion with examples.
Follow longer dialogues and identify purpose, sequence and important supporting details.
Read connected passages, notices and practical information with increasingly varied grammar.
Develop paragraph organisation, sentence completion and short explanatory writing appropriate to an early intermediate target.
The outline balances intermediate language development with progressively longer reading, listening and written tasks. Any exam-specific task selection and the final assessment format will be confirmed for the intake.
Aim for the language skills associated with an initial intermediate learning target. Level 3 is awarded through TOPIK II examination performance, not through attendance at a course.
